WHERE SINGERS BECOME ARTISTS
Where young singers begin becoming artists.
The MVA Young Artists Program is a weekly music and performance experience created for singers ages 7–9.

Students develop their voices, musicianship, confidence and creativity through songs they are excited to sing—all within a warm, encouraging community where every young artist has room to grow.

MORE THAN A SINGING CLASS
Young singers need more than opportunities to memorize lyrics and perform motions. They need a place to discover what their voices can do, learn how music works and begin expressing themselves as artists.

Each week, MVA Young Artists combines age-appropriate vocal instruction with movement, musicianship, creativity and performance.

Students learn to listen, collaborate, make expressive choices and grow more confident using their individual voices.

WHAT YOUNG ARTISTS WILL EXPERIENCE
HEALTHY VOCAL DEVELOPMENT
Students explore breathing, coordination, range and vocal freedom through engaging exercises and songs appropriate for developing voices.
MUSICIANSHIP
Through rhythm, pitch matching, ear training and introductory sight-singing, students begin developing the musical skills that support confident, independent singing.
MOVEMENT AND STAGE PRESENCE
Students learn how to use their bodies, faces and imaginations to communicate a song instead of simply standing still and reciting lyrics.
ENSEMBLE SINGING
Working as a group helps young singers develop listening skills, musical responsibility, cooperation and confidence.
HARMONY AND MUSICAL LAYERS
Students begin exploring how different vocal parts work together and how their individual contribution supports the complete performance.
SOLO OPPORTUNITIES
Students who are ready may have opportunities to sing independently. Solo singing is encouraged as a path for growth, but students are supported at an appropriate pace.
CREATIVITY AND ARTISTIC CHOICE
Young singers are invited to make decisions, share ideas and explore what makes a performance feel personal and meaningful.

TWO SHOWCASES EACH YEAR
Performance is part of the learning process at MVA.
Young Artists participate in two showcases during the studio year, giving students meaningful goals and opportunities to share what they have developed with family, friends and the MVA community.

The showcases are not simply recitals at the end of a class. They are part of how students learn to prepare, collaborate, communicate and grow more comfortable onstage.
A PLACE TO BELONG AND GROW
The MVA Young Artists Program may be an excellent fit for a child who:

-
Loves to sing at home
-
Is curious about performing
-
Wants to become more confident
-
Needs a creative community
-
Enjoys music but has little formal training
-
Wants to learn how to sing with other people
